It has been decided to organise the 11 th edition of Malabar Round Table 2.0 on 24 th january,2020 at Malabar Chamber of Commerce office.
The program was held at Malabar Christian College ground. The program was conducted on 21.12.2019, 22.12.2019 and 23.12.2019. The Malabar Chamber had arranged a stall at the venue with photographs depicting the important events conducted at our Chamber.
Ms. Preethi, CEO of TBI of NITC said that for the last 15 years TBI has been supporting the trade and Industry. Guidance and support were extended to entrepreneurs. Our TBI has recorded good success and more than 100 successful entrepreneurs have benefitted from our TBI.
Lt. Col K K Manu (Retd.) , Hon. Secretary welcomed the gathering. He said that a perspective plan for the development of Kozhikode was prepared in 1995 – 96 under the Co-Chairmanship of Dr. Viswas Mehta IAS.
Sri. A Shyam Sunder, President chaired the meeting and welcomed the gathering. He said that this Scheme was declared in the last Budget by Hon. Finance Minister and implemented from September 2019 upto 31st of December. Already settlement, amounting to Rs. 6000 crores have been completed by now. The scheme is very attractive and all the interest and penalty will be waivered alongwith a waive in the disputed amount.

We had a meeting with Dr. Beena IAS., Chairperson, Cochin Port Trust who has requested the DP World Authorities to hear the problems of Exporters of Malabar by visiting Malabar Chamber. We understand that DP World is not charging for the transfer of goods from Cochin to Dubai.
Sri. A. Shyam Sunder, President welcomed the gathering. He said that though the Exim Policy is made for a period of 5 years, periodical amendments mostly during every year are being done. Our Chamber had sent the grievances received from our member exporters and were sent to the Chairperson of Cochin Port Trust. As the Cochin Port has become almost saturated, the Beypore Port may be developed as a feeder Port of Cochin Port.

Malabar Chamber will be in the forefront to see that this project is implemented and will work for the establishment of a Semi High Speed Rail extending throughout Kerala. We hopeful that this project will be implemented and will not be like other projects which lie and die in paper and are just a project for a project.
