About Malabar Chamber of Commerce

The Malabar Chamber of Commerce, established in 1929 is in its 90th year of meaningful existence. It was set on track by stalwarts like AKTKM Guptan Namboodiripad and Sait Nagjee Amarsee and was nourished by presidents like P.P. Hassan Koya, Liladhar Mehta, Hajee Koyappathodi, M. Ahamed Kutty, U.K. Sankunni and K.A. Unneerikutty.

Since its inception, the Chamber has been working for the development of Malabar region. Realising the fact that only sound infrastructure could lead to integral development of the region, the Chamber presented a number of suggestions and recommendations to the government from time to time. Calicut International Airport, Indian Institute of Management, Konkan Railway, Express Highway, Inland Waterways were only a few among them.
